Welcome to my HomePage!

I am a Professor in Psychology at UNBSJ. I have an interest in descriptive statistics. Hallmarks of science are measurement and replication.  Inferential statistics have their place but only as an estimate of replication. Unfortunately, inferential statistics with significance criteria have been used to as a gateway for publication and turned precise measurement to a zero (non significance) one (significance) situation. This has made it almost impossible for pschology to progress as a science.

To explain this facet of my interests, I have published papers that estimate true effect sizes from the existing litterature. In the links above you can see more detail about my research, a list of publications and my contact information.

Another interest of mine has been in the detection of deception. My focus has been on questionning techniques rather than attempting to discover a new physiological index related to deception.

Finally, together with my colleague Dr. Cullen, we have published a manual on anger management that seems to be well received by the clinical community.
